In and among all of the other writing I have done through the years, I have produced a number of short sketches. (Please do not call them "skits," since the mention of that word suggests very amateur work and makes me "schiz" out.) Some of the sketches are standalone pieces; others became part of a series of video scripts under the title "Streetlamp Theatre," derived from the old Dada cry, "We are all streetlamps!" The scripts were intended for production for community access TV, but alas, were never taped. However, some of the sketches were recorded on audiotape in Ed Debes' Pineapple 7 Studios in the late 1970s and early 1980, featuring the voices of myself, Ed, Mindy Gulden, and Lisa Richter.
Now again, with the miracle of the web and software and hardware that puts a full video production studio on my desktop, I am converting some of these sketches to digital format, for several reasons. One is for your entertainment pleasure. I also wish to document and display my work, and this is a way of experimenting with my software packages that I have had for years and have not had the chance to use.
Some of the efforts may appear unpolished, but my learning the software is
often the primary goal at this time. Yes, the boy's mouth in Go
Fightin' Broilers! doesn't quite work in synch with the audio, but if I
had another 20 hours (or the resources of Pixar) it might. However, what I learned
in an afternoon about Poser will serve me well in future projects.
